The embattled electric car maker Fisker faces even more challenges. The manufacturer himself has said that there is little opportunity for service, and this has had a big impact.
When someone hit Joy Wanner’s car while her door was open, the damage appeared to be minor, according to the website Carscoops. But less than a month later, the insurance company thought the electric SUV had been written off.
This means that the insurance company believes that it is not financially profitable to repair the car after an accident or other damage.
– One day the car was fine, and the next day a new warning light would flash or make a noise. It was hard to pay so much money for a car only to be annoyed every time you used it, Wanner said.

Less than 10,000 kroner
The insurance company found two problems after the accident with the door. Superficial damage to the door, and a broken hinge.
The initial estimate to repair the damage was $910.
It was difficult to buy both parts, due to the lack of parts. Wanner has also indicated that Fisker has not been very helpful.
– It is impossible to get answers or help from them, she wrote on the Facebook group for Fisker owners, according to Carscoops.
About a month after the accident, she received a payment of $53,303. This is equivalent to approximately NOK 580,000.
– We lost over 20,000 dollars investing in an electric car startup, and I can’t say goodbye soon enough.

Possible emergency brake failure
US auto safety officials on Friday opened an investigation into 6,813 Fisker Ocean cars produced in 2023, following complaints that the automatic emergency braking system was activated accidentally.
It is said that they have received several complaints claiming that using the braking system without a barrier on the road leads to sudden acceleration of the car.
No comprehensive insurance
When there are no parts to catch, the insurance companies don’t offer comprehensive insurance either.
Elbil24 and Bilbransje24 have checked with several insurance companies, who have said that they do not provide comprehensive insurance for newly signed cars. This applies to Storebrand, Gjensidige, If and Tryg/Enter.
Therefore the insurance companies only offer liability insurance to Fisker Ocean owners. It covers the damage to other people. The insurance companies are obliged to offer liability insurance.
Since it is not possible to get comprehensive insurance, it can be even more difficult to get a car loan.
