Al-Akhbar (Nouadhibou) – A number of traditional fishermen, owners of CNM ships, protested the demise of the day in front of the state building, carrying empty cauldrons and gas canisters, considering that the Minister of Fishing had taken a decision to stop their ships, and they became unable to secure their daily sustenance, they said.
The protesting fishermen carried cauldrons above their heads, and gas canisters, appealing to the president and the local authorities to do justice to them from the Minister of Fishing’s decision to stop the activity of their ships during the holy month of Ramadan.
Dah Talha – one of the protesters – told the news agency that the minister’s decision against them is not fair, and has exacerbated their suffering, prompting them to carry empty cauldrons as an expression of the extent of their suffering, calling on the president to intervene and seek justice for them from the Minister of Fishing, who is the real reason for what happened to them.
Ould Talha saw that dozens of fishermen working on CNM ships today are in a very difficult situation, and are waiting for a fair decision from the president against them, wondering about the real secret behind the minister’s insistence on an unfair decision against them, and the real motives behind it.
