This inflammation, is the underlying cause of cardiovascular disease, certain cancers and diabetes.
Although catfish also contains omega-3 fatty acids which have many health benefits, the ratio of omega-6 is much greater than omega-3 fatty acids. Adeolu reminded that fish needs to be consumed in moderation to prevent health complications.
“Catfish is rich in two omega-3 fatty acids and omega-6 fatty acids. Omega-3 fatty acids help reduce the concentration of bad cholesterol in the bloodstream and increase the concentration of good cholesterol in the bloodstream,” he explained.
In addition, this omega-3 content also helps protect the heart and cardiovascular system from all forms of disease, prevents inflammation in the body and helps reduce the amount or concentration of inflammatory substances in the body.
However, the main cause of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, and many other diseases is chronic inflammation.
