Regardless of how each account holder managed to deal with the crisis, the tax authorities’ car is ready to start up again and for a large slice of the population it could be yet another blow. And, at least for the moment, it is better not to rely too much on the possibility of an extension, even if the work of the Parliament and of the dedicated committees seem to go in this direction.

Calendar in hand, the date of June 30 is not far off. And incidentally, since it is a period of crisis, neither is that of 2 August. For the current account of taxpayers, the alarm is triggered when the collection activity it would begin to operate its enforcement actions again. Indeed, for those who at that date will not be in order, it could even trigger the foreclosure of the current account. According to the law, in certain cases, salaries and pensions would also be at risk, which could be subject to withdrawals proportionate to the amount.

The Revenue Agency confirms, through the report on the Coordination of Public Finance 2021, of the next actions by the tax authorities. Among these, the making available of the current account of a given taxpayer for specific checks. However, it should be remembered that, in case of very high or unsustainable amounts by the date of 2 August, it will be possible to proceed with the installment payments, by submitting a request to the Revenue Agency for Collection, no later than 31 July. Otherwise, the executive action will be incurred.
