Fischer/Greens: Success story repair bonus returns

50 percent of the repair costs up to an amount of 200 euros will be reimbursed

Vienna (OTS) “So far, the system introduced by Climate Protection Minister Leonore Gewessler Repair bonus repaired almost 700,000 electrical devices. This means avoiding a huge mountain of electronic waste. “Everyone really benefits from this – the environment, our economy with many great repair companies and also the consumers,” says Ulli Fischer, spokeswoman for the Green Party for consumer protection, about the second round of the repair bonus starting today.

Starting today, consumers can use the website again www.reparaturbonus.at download a repair receipt. This subsidizes 50 percent of the repair costs up to an amount of 200 euros. The platform can also be used to find a repair shop near your home that specializes in the electrical device to be repaired.

Due to cases of fraud in the past, it became necessary to implement an improved safety net for the repair bonus over the summer. Consumers who redeem the repair voucher first pay the entire repair amount. The repairing company then submits the receipt as before. The funding amount will then be refunded directly to the customer. “With this innovation, we are creating more security for our partners and for all customers who would like to take advantage of the repair bonus,” says Fischer.
