FIS gives the green light for the women’s races in Flachau and Zauchensee

Flachau / Zauchensee – The International Ski Association gave the green light for the Ski World Cup races in Flachau and Zauchensee on Sunday.

In Flachau there will be a slalom on the Hermann Maier slope on January 11th. As in previous years, fans in the Salzburger Land can look forward to a night spectacle, even if it has to take place without a spectator and can only be watched in front of the television. Last season was crowned Mikaela Shiffrin from the USA to the “Snow Space Salzburg Princess.” The Austrian Katharina Liensberger could look forward to second place in her home race, Wendy Holdener from Switzerland swung out as third.

While the technology ladies are at work in Flachau, the speed ladies move into their quarters in Zauchensee just under 20 kilometers away. Both a downhill and a super-G are on the program here. In the last descent, which was held in 2020, the Swiss had Corinne Suter in front of the South Tyrolean Nicol Delago and her compatriot Michelle Gisin one step ahead. The Italian secured herself in the Super-G Federica Brignone the victory. She triumphed before her compatriot Marta Bassino. Wendy Holdener was able to look forward to third place.
