The targets for vaccination on this day are residents and employees of nursing hospitals and nursing facilities nationwide. Seniors over 65 years of age were excluded from this vaccination due to controversy about the efficacy of the AstraZeneca vaccine to be used for the first vaccination.
In 213 nursing facilities nationwide, 5,266 people will receive the vaccination during the day. They receive the vaccine directly delivered and stored to the public health center through a visit to the public health center, or through a health center visiting team or a contract doctor for each facility who visited the facility with the public health center vaccine.
The number of inoculations per day at 292 nursing hospitals was not specified. In the case of nursing hospitals, the vaccine is delivered to individual nursing hospitals because there are resident medical staff, and the vaccination is performed within about 5 days after receipt according to its own plan. In Daegu, Hwang Soon-gu (61) and Lee Myung-ok (60), a couple of doctors who have been running the Hansol Nursing Hospital (Buk-gu) since 2013, were selected as the first inoculations. In Chungbuk, a doctor (47) and an inpatient (64) at a nursing hospital in Heungdeok-gu, Cheongju are the first inoculation. In Gyeongnam, the person in charge of quarantine at the Dasom Senior Welfare Center in Changwon City will be the 1st inoculation.
From the 27th, vaccinations will begin for workers in hospitals that directly treat corona19 patients.
