As production unfolds on the King of Pop’s upcoming biopic, “Michael,” directed by Antoine Fuqua and starring Jaafar Jackson, the legend’s nephew, anticipation and debate are rising to new heights.

“There may be some people who think you’re different, and that’s going to make your life a little more difficult,” his mother, Katherine Jackson, tells her talented son in the trailer to which some critics had access. “But you were never like the others. “There are elements of drama, intrigue and emotional states.” Producer Graham King noted that he has been preparing for the film for seven years, interviewing hundreds of people and carefully considering how to condense his complex life and legacy.
“We’ll get into all of that,” King promises regarding the child sexual abuse allegations. “Behind the relentless scrutiny, the accusations and the spotlight, he was simply a man, a man with a very complicated life.”
The film will be released in April 2025.
