How writes server Variety.com, the film simply titled Civil War takes place in the near future when 19 American states have seceded from the rest of the Union. “Dear citizens, the US military has defeated the self-proclaimed western forces of Texas and California,” the president, who is in his third term in office, announced in the video. He is played by Nick Offerman known from the recent series The Last of Us.
Maybe the troops associated with California and Texas, maybe the so-called Florida Alliance, but in the trailer they are apparently advancing on the White House. According to Theverge.com, the creators have not yet they didn’t tell more details about the story. It will apparently focus on a small group trying to get into fortified Washington.
Kirsten Dunst known for Eternal light of the immaculate mind or Melancholia plays a war photographer, in addition to her, the actresses Cailee Spaeny and Sonoja Mizuno or Wagner Moura, famous for his role as Pablo Escobar in the series Narcos, act in the film.
Fifty-three-year-old Londoner Alex Garland first drew attention to himself in the 1990s as the author of a novel about a young backpacker and a forgotten lagoon called The Beach, which later filmed Danny Boyle starring Leonardo DiCaprio.
