A month ago, we wrote about the fact that “Meta” is going to offer its “Facebook” and “Instagram” users a new subscription “Meta Verified”, which allows you to verify your profile and receive a blue badge, similar to Twitter. The head of the company, Mark Zuckerberg, informed “Instagram” on Friday that the subscription has been launched in the USA since March 17.
Meta Verified users of the web version of the app costs $12 per month, while iOS and Android users have to part with $15 per subscription. For this amount, the user will get not only a verified profile and a blue badge, but also a couple of additional extras. For example, direct access to customer support, plus digital stickers that can be used in Stories and Reels. The company also states that it will consider adding additional features and capabilities to “Meta Verified” as it continues to test the subscription.
It should be noted that already in February the subscription became available in New Zealand and Australia. The company has yet to provide details on when it will be available in other parts of the world, such as Europe.
It is important that several conditions must be met in order to receive a “Meta Verified” subscription. First of all, a state-issued ID card must be submitted that matches the name, surname, and photo specified in the user’s profile. Second, the user must be at least 18 years old. Third, two-factor authentication must be enabled.
