First test against league rival – News – EHCO

08/23/2024 – After a strong performance against EHC Biel, the Olten team tests against a team from the Swiss Sky League for the first time today when they visit Winterthur.

The team, led by sports director Christian Weber, developed a successful sport last season and reached the playoffs for the first time. Weber was able to strengthen the team again this season and brought a promising young Canadian duo, including Allan McShane and Brett Neumann, to Switzerland’s sixth largest city. McShane, who scored points for La Chaux-de-Fonds in the last playoffs, and Neumann already know each other from the Canadian OHL, where they scored 150 points together in the 19/20 season. The Eulachstadt side have also signed Swiss Christof von Burg for the second goalkeeper position. He has gained experience in Sweden over the past five seasons and is now the EHCW goalkeeper duo with Damian Stettler.

EHC Olten wants to get more insights from the test match to define future lines. It also serves the best integration of Biel U20 youth and of course to get match practice.

Deutweg ice rink starts at 8:00 pm. As usual with the test matches, there is no live stream yet – so we look forward to your strong support on the site.
