For Austrian standards, Franz Klammer’s Olympic downhill victory in Innsbruck in 1976 was an event like the moon landing. Director Andreas Schmied (“Love Machine”) filmed this “material for very big cinema” and shot it in Carinthia, Innsbruck and Vienna until the beginning of April.
At the end of October, the lavishly produced film (epofilm / Samsara) with newcomer Julian Waldner will be released in cinemas. The first one and a half minute long teaser trailer has now been published, initially by the renowned international industry medium Variety.
You can see the first dialogues, between Franz and Eva Klammer (Valerie Huber), or how skier Werner Grissmann (Noah Perktold) blaspheme about the ÖSV trainer Charly Kahr. In addition, excerpts from the apparently spectacular racing scenes that were staged by “Streif” director Gerald Salmina can be seen.
