The official trailer for Sony’s biopic “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” arrived on Thursday.
There we see Naomi Ackie (30) as the pop icon herself, Ashton Sanders as Bobby Brown and Stanley Tucci as Clive Davis.
Sonyn described the film as a “candid portrait of the complex and multifaceted woman behind The Voice”. to write Variety.
Different reactions
The newly released trailer is getting mixed reactions online, but Naomi Ackie has already been praised for her role.
“THIS is a biography of Whitney. The actor DELIVERY ” writes a Twitter user.
“I love a good biography and I’ve been waiting for Whitney’s. I’m so happy that the Bohemian Rhapsody team is behind it “writes another.
Others are more critical.
“Do we still need a biography of Whitney Houston?”you ask.
Another wonders if a documentary series wouldn’t have been better, referring to Houston’s tough time with substance abuse.
Some fans have shown disgust for the film because the singer’s sister-in-law Pat Houston is involved in the production.
“Who is responsible for Whitney Houston’s biography? If Pat Houston is involved, I won’t see him. I’m sorry but I can not. The way he served Whitney was, in my opinion, bad. “

From the creators of “Bohemian Rhapsody”
Houston is the choir girl who has become one of the best-selling artists in the world. She has struggled with substance abuse for the past few years, before she died in 2012 by drowning in a hotel room in Beverly Hills.
Screenwriter Anthony McCarten also wrote the screenplay for “Bohemian Rhapsody”, and the film is directed by Kasi Lemmons.
The American premiere is in December.
