Now the corona crisis is already having an impact on the next winter season. Because of the uncertain Covid situation, the board of directors and the management of Heuberge AG decided not to operate the facilities and the mountain houses during the winter season 2020/21, as stated in a message from the small ski area Fideriser Heuberge.

In the ski and toboggan area of the Heuberge, life in winter mainly takes place on the mountain in the three mountain houses and the two restaurants at 2000 meters. “An economical operation is only possible with a high utilization of the restaurant and hotel infrastructure by groups and good planning,” it says. The ski area is primarily dependent on ski camps from all over Switzerland.

More difficult than in summer
In addition, those responsible are worried that they will not be able to protect guests and employees from infections as well in winter as in summer. The operators have apparently not found a security concept that protects people and with which one can still operate the business profitably. (pbe)
