In this framework, the Secretary of State announced this Friday the most frequent adverse effects of the authorized vaccines against covid-19.

“According to official data from the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), more than 330 million doses of vaccine that uses messenger RNA technology have been administered in America,” the portfolio reported and, thus, detailed the adverse effects described after the application of this type of vaccines.

In the first range of possible effects, with a very common frequency (1 in 10 cases), they list “headache, diarrhea, arthralgia, myalgia, fever, asthenia and pain at the injection site.”

Among the frequently occurring situations, with 1 in every 100 cases studied, lymphadenopathy, nausea, vomiting and erythema may arise at the injection site.

Rising to 1 in 10,000 cases, urticaria, lymphedema or acute peripheral facial paralysis may appear as rare effects.

Finally, very rarely (less than 1 in 10,000 cases), it can cause pericarditis and myocarditis.

“In the case of very rare adverse effects, myocarditis and pericarditis occurred mainly in young men under 40 years of age, these conditions present a favorable evolution and less impact compared to what occurs in the context of covid-19. in unvaccinated people,” reported the MSP.

The ministry added that it is necessary to report these adverse effects if they persist over time, if they interfere with daily activity, if they require an emergency medical consultation or if they lead to hospitalization.

“You can report it directly to your health provider or to the online procedure. The information you provide in the application will be sent to the health provider and they will notify the Ministry of Public Health,” adds the ministerial communication.
