The three speakers on the meeting and their office: “The inaugural meeting of IG Comic has once again shown that it is time for all varieties of this medium to be heard more. Over the course of the two days, there was intensive brainstorming in the peer groups and a series of measures were formulated with which we would like to draw more attention to the work areas. We are sure that there is still a lot of untapped potential in the areas of comics, graphic novels, manga and webtoon that can help the book industry achieve more sustained growth. As spokespeople for the IG, we want to make a contribution to exploiting this unused potential. We see it as our task to advance the work in the peer groups and to communicate the results to the industry. We also want to promote greater understanding of the special requirements for the successful production and distribution of comics in all their facets.”
