“First Solidarity Veterinarian Launches in Lima Norte for Comprehensive Pet Care Program”

Thousands of pets from Comas and Lima Norte will be able to receive comprehensive veterinary medical care such as consultations, vaccinations, internal and external deworming, among other veterinary services at a social cost, thanks to the Comprehensive Pet Care Program, after the inauguration of the first solidarity veterinarian – VETSOL at the Sinchi Roca metropolitan club on Tuesday, May 23.

The ceremony held on Tuesday, May 23, was attended by the metropolitan mayor of Lima, Rafael López Aliaga, who was accompanied by Luis Molina, president of the Board of Directors of the Lima Parks Service (Serpar), who made this initiative a reality, which was promoted since the campaign stage of the elected burgomaster.

“The Comprehensive Pet Care Program (VETSOL) will ensure comprehensive and complementary veterinary health services such as sterilization, vaccination, deworming, among others. In addition, it will mitigate the risk of transmission of zoonotic diseases, and will regulate that more commercial establishments and/or institutions safely accept and accept the entry of pets, as indicated by the legal norm,” said Luis Molina, president of the Serpar Board of Directors.

For its part, the municipality of Lima specified that the price of the veterinary consultation is 10 soles, deworming 20 soles, the triple vaccine 35 soles and the quadruple vaccine is 45 soles. Hours of operation are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. It should be noted that this solidarity veterinarian has a conditioned space called “Pet Park”, where pets can play safely while they wait to be seen or once their consultations have finished.

VETSOL became a reality, thanks to Ordinance No. 2536, published on April 8, in the Legal Norms bulletin of the official newspaper El Peruano, which bears the signature of the mayor of Lima, Rafael López Aliaga.
