First Snowfall of the Season Hits South Limburg – More Snow Expected Next Week

Nov 25, 2023 at 10:23 AM Update: 32 minutes ago

The first snowflakes of the winter season have fallen in the south of Limburg. The snow remained for a short time in Landgraaf and Kerkrade, reports Weerplaza. After the weekend it will be colder and there is a chance of more (wet) snow.

Although it is not officially winter yet, meteorological winter is just around the corner. That starts on December 1. Yet the first snowflakes have already been seen. Limburgers had to drive on a white road in the two cities on Saturday morning.

The snow and lower temperatures could make the road slippery. No accidents have been reported.

The first snow comes a little later than in the previous winter season. In 2022, it already snowed on November 18 in various places in Groningen and Drenthe.

There is also a chance of snow next week. It gets -2 to a maximum of 6 degrees every day. This means that the temperature drops considerably. According to the KNMI, this mainly concerns wet snow. But where it freezes, some snow may remain.
