“There’s enough powdered milk on that plane for about half a million bottles,” a presidential adviser told Fox News. This concerns about 15 percent of the total, direct need. A number of flights are planned for early next week.

Many parents in the US have been mistaking lately when they shop for baby milk powder. The shortage was partly caused by a factory that stopped production and was subsequently exacerbated by global supply problems due to the corona pandemic. That has created one of the most pressing food shortages in recent history for American families. Biden previously announced that he would introduce an emergency law because of the shortages.
Sorry for lack
The general manager of the closed Abbott plant in the state of Michigan has apologized and promised to fix the problem. “We’re sorry to every family we’ve disappointed because our voluntary production shutdown has exacerbated the national deficit,” Robert Ford said in a Washington Post column.
The factory will reopen in the first week of June, he promised. It then takes another six to eight weeks before the milk powder is back in the shops.
