First Rumors About iPhone 17 Series: New Model, Aluminum Design, and More RAM

Although the iPhone 17 series is not released until the second half of 2025, there are already the first rumors about these new models. It is surprising that the Plus model would be replaced by a slim model.

In the news: Apple there are significant changes in the series for the iPhone 17 series. These models will not be announced until September 2025, but in a report from analyst Jeff Pu from Haitong International Securities – via 9 to 5 sons – the first rumors are already there.

iPhone 17 slim

According to Pu Apple not releasing an iPhone 17 Plus in 2025. The company will replace that model with the new iPhone 17 Slim. This will join the iPhone 17, 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max. It would be a device with a “slim design”.

  • The Plus model of the iPhone has been a concern for Apple for some time. Usually the device is not much cheaper than the Pro models, although the quality is much less. As a result, the iPhone Plus often does not sell as well as the other versions. To top off that low profile, the Plus is disappearing from the range.

Aluminum, Dynamic Island, better camera

It seems that Apple is again planning to change the material for the cover of the iPhone 17. According to Pu, the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Slim and iPhone 17 Pro will have an aluminum design. The iPhone 17 Pro Max will continue to be made of titanium.

  • This 17 Pro Max, also the most expensive model, has a smaller ‘Dynamic Island’ thanks to new technology. The other models will keep their old design.
  • The 17 Pro and Pro Max also have more RAM with 12 GB

Finally, all four models of the iPhone 17 would have a 24 MP camera. That’s a big improvement compared to the 12 MP cameras that Apple currently uses on its latest iPhones.
