Employers and trade unions want to meet in Dresden this Wednesday (11:00 a.m.) for the first round of negotiations in the wage dispute in Saxon wholesale and foreign trade. Around 38,000 employees were affected, Verdi announced on Tuesday. “The employees in wholesale and foreign trade need more money in their wallets as soon as possible,” said Verdi negotiator Sylke Hustan. Accordingly, the ongoing price increases are now affecting the livelihoods of employees.

Among other things, Verdi calls for an advance increase in the lower wage and salary groups. In addition, the union wants 0.27 euros per working hour as a Saxony surcharge, an increase in all wages by 13 percent for Verdi members, a term of twelve months – until April 30, 2024 – and an additional 150 euros for each zero month.
