The constituency of Chartres is the only one in the department where Emmanuel Macron (LREM) takes first place, after the first round of the presidential election, Sunday April 10.
The outgoing president won 30.8% of the vote. He is ahead of Marine Le Pen by more than seven points. A significant gap which has even increased compared to the last election. This is one of the first lessons of these results.
Emmanuel Macron strengthens his anchorage in the constituency. Five years ago, the gap between the two “finalists” was five points: 25.1% for Emmanuel Macron, 20.1% for Marine Le Pen. The Head of State improves his total of 2,800 votes compared to the first round of 2017, while Marine Le Pen wins just over 1,200 votes.

Unsurprisingly, the significant decline of the right is a major fact of this election. In a constituency long represented by a deputy identified on the right, the score of Valérie Pécresse (LR), with only 6% of the vote, embodies a turning point. Five years ago, François Fillon (LR) won 22.5% of the vote in the constituency, coming in second behind Emmanuel Macron, but ahead of Marine Le Pen. Or a fall of more than 16 points.

Marine Le Pen in the lead, the right collapsing … A look at the results of the first round, in Eure-et-Loir
Another lesson from this election is the position of Jean-Luc Mélenchon (LFI), who came in third (18%) on Sunday. But the left-wing candidate has almost the same number of votes as in 2017 (11,988 this year against 11,776 five years ago).
These results of the first round, in the constituency of Chartres, testify to a major political recomposition and allow to project towards the legislative elections of June.

[CARTE] Discover the municipalities of Eure-et-Loir in which Marine Le Pen achieves its best scores
The outgoing deputy, Guillaume Kasbarian (LREM), came first in the first round, in 2017, with 37.1% of the vote, ahead of Franck Masselus (LR), with 22.2% of the vote. Sylvie Rouxel (FN) finished third with 12.7%.
The results of this first round of presidential elections seem to offer favorable ground for Guillaume Kasbarian to seek a new mandate.
