Only a few more weeks and then you can The Green Knight see on Amazon Prime Video. This will be the case from 21 August; before that, the film can be seen in cinemas on August 5.
It’s a promising project, from director David Lowery, with a lead role for actor Dev Patel. But does it live up to the hype? Now that the reviews are pouring in, it’s starting to look like that.
The Green Knight
We follow in The Green Knight Sir Gawain, King Arthur’s reckless and stubborn cousin. He sets out on a daring quest to confront the Green Knight from the title. That’s a giant, green-skinned alien and someone who puts people to the test. Gawain encounters ghosts, giants, thieves and impostors in a journey that tests his character and forces him to prove his worth to his family and kingdom.
Here are a few reviews:

ComicBook: “David Lowery carefully balances between an existential and linear narrative, making it a hypnotic, challenging and visually stunning experience.”
Slashfilm: “In The Green Knight, the infinite mysteries of the natural world are reframed in an Arthurian narrative so strange and so seductive, it gets under your skin.”
CinemaBlend: “The Green Knight is at once exciting, beautiful and will give you nightmares.”
Bloody Disgusting: “Lowery’s latest film will impress and amaze you. It’s a darkly fantastical epic that finds exactly the pagan heart of Arthur’s legends.”
