People with a medical condition, who are eligible for an annual flu vaccination, will be invited in phases for a corona vaccination from Thursday 6 May. These are people born between 1961 and 2003. This group will receive an invitation in the coming weeks.

The invitation contains a specific code to make an appointment with the GGD Municipal Health Service. This can be done online via www.coronavaccinatie-afspraak.nl or by telephone, via a special telephone number. This group receives the vaccine from the GGD from BioNTech / Pfizer or Moderna. It is estimated that 1.5 million people can make an appointment after receiving an invitation.
General practitioners have made a selection of the patients in their practice who would normally be eligible for the flu vaccination. They have an extra risk of getting sick from COVID-19. As of May 6, about 175,000 invitations at a time will be received by people from this group. Most of this group can schedule an appointment with the GGD within 2 to 3 weeks. People are invited all over the country. The invitation is personal and non-transferable. Only after receipt of the letter with the code can an appointment be made at the GGD. It is very important to bring the personal invitation to the appointment.
Double invitation
People in this group may receive a double invitation. They are now invited on the basis of their medical condition, but have sometimes already been invited via a different route. For example, because they work in healthcare or were born in 1961 or 1962. Those who have already been vaccinated may throw away the second invitation.
