First old-fashioned night out (with 1G policy) goes smoothly

The organizers of the parties announced this to the ANP news agency last night. Many large catering locations opened their doors for the first time for an old-fashioned club or party evening, without corona restrictions.

Lots of questions about new rules

For occasions where more than five hundred people gather, a negative corona test is required. The Music Dome and De Marktkantine received many questions about the new test rules in advance.

About 2400 carnival celebrants were present at the party in Kerkrade, organizer Ramon Luckers said. Almost everyone had ‘neatly got their QR code in order’. A handful of revelers were turned away at the door because the test proof was wrong.

Couple of disappointments

According to Luckers, this mainly concerned people who had tested positive, but had a recovery certificate with them. “That’s very confusing. Because they have a recovery certificate and are therefore actually cured, but you can still test positive a few weeks after you have recovered. The answer was that unfortunately we still have to adhere to the test policy.”

In De Marktkantine, all 2000 tickets for the techno party were sold out. An hour and a half after the doors opened, the Amsterdam club had refused about fifteen people who did not have their test certificate in order.

“I have to say that everything went well for me,” said an employee. “Maybe most of them had bought a ticket at the last minute and hadn’t considered the testing rules of Testing for Access. And possibly a single tourist was also among them.”

‘Don’t feel like testing’

The consultation of Dutch nightclubs Nachtbelang previously announced that the test policy for large clubs is not expected to work well. People probably don’t feel like getting tested before a night out, the organization reasoned.
