BG Göttingen has signed the first new entry for the basketball Bundesliga season 2020/21. Ron Jackson Jr. moves from North Carolina A&T State University (Greensboro, USA) to the Violets and receives a one-year contract. The club announced on Monday.

“Ron has a lot of athletic skills that I like and the potential to grow,” says BG head coach Roel Moors about the 23-year-old American. “He can play in positions four and five, which makes him interesting. I also think that he has the right attitude and the right character to play for the BG. ”

Jackson Jr. attended Fleming Island High School in Florida (USA) and moved to Hillsborough Junior College (Florida) in the summer of 2016. Already in his second season for the “Hawks” he was in all 30 games in the starting lineup, scored 13.5 points per game and got 10.5 rebounds. From the summer of 2018, the BG newcomer continued his basketball career in North Carolina and in his first season for the “Aggies” came on average 7.5 points and 4.6 rebounds per game.

In his final year 2019/20, the 2.03-meter basketball player was on the starting line-up in 31 of 32 games and managed an average double-game per game (15.0 points / 10.4 rebounds). The American was named Team of the Year at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) for his accomplishments.
Jackson Jr. is the third player in the violet squad for the BBL season 2020/21, which also includes Dennis Kramer and Marvin Omuvwie.
