At the end of March, Duchess Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, officially bid farewell as Senior Royals. Already, the charitable organization Smart Works no longer calls its patron “Royal” – and is thus setting the first Megxit sign.
Duchess Meghan and her husband Prince Harry are on March 31, 2020 officially resign from her royal duties. As part of this, the charity organization Smart Works has already made a provision: On the homepage the patron’s curriculum vitae has been adapted.
Only Duchess of Sussex
Both the designation “Royal Patron” (“Royal Patroness”) and “HRH – His / her royal highness” (“Royal Highness”) have been removed. Instead, Meghan is only listed as “Patroness” and “Duchess of Sussex”.
One final step is still missing: On the home page On the website, the Duchess continues to be dubbed “Royal Patroness”. At the end of March this name will probably also give way.
Duchess Meghan will continue to support the project
Smart Works helps women from difficult social backgrounds to integrate into the world of work – among other things by providing appropriate clothing for interviews. Duchess Meghan has been supporting the project since January 2019.
Their last appointment as a senior member of the British royal family Meghan already contested in mid-March.
