CA Brive is now fixed on its fate. This Thursday morning, July 7, the National Rugby League unveiled the schedule for the 2022/2023 Top 14 season.
A first home game
This is the surprise of this calendar. Whereas the club had made a request to the League for the first match to take place away, it is in Amédée-Domenech that CA Brive will make its start to the season. The request had been made by the leaders in order to let the gardeners work on the lawn of the Stadium. Since the beginning of the summer, they have taken care of regenerating the lawn and seeding it so that it can be practicable in September, but they are dependent on the weather. The request was not accepted. It is therefore against Lyon that the first match will be played on the weekend of September 3.

The club can nevertheless be delighted with the date of the derby. The match in Brive against ASM will be played on the weekend of December 24, the precise date remains to be confirmed. Last year, the confrontation against the best enemies of the Massif Central was already scheduled for this date, but it had been postponed due to cases of Covid-19. The match was scheduled to be sold out, it may be again this year.

Sportingly, for the CAB, it will be very difficult, with ten games in a row between September 3 and November 6. After the first clash against Lyon, the Brivistes will travel to Perpignan, which will then play its first match of the season. They will chain the champion of France Montpellier at home, then the vice-champion of France outside Castres. It is then Bayonne who will present themselves at home before another hellish sequence: Toulon, Toulouse, Stade Français, Racing 92 and La Rochelle.
If autumn is strong, spring will also be very hot, with a terrible month of may to end the season: Montpellier, Castres then Toulouse. The maintenance will have to be acquired before, it is a certainty.
