I wonder how they will distinguish between the air and the pro. Are they going to pinch the chip or are they making different chips?
Different ‘custom made’ chips per laptop type is very likely. The chip for the Air is likely to become more energy efficient but perform less (more energy efficient, less performance cores), the chip for the Pro will likely perform more but be less energy efficient. So chips that fit the type of laptop, the Air ultra light, small battery, suitable for the target group that does not need heavy applications, the Pro, larger battery, heavier, suitable for the real ‘power user’ who uses many heavy applications. I expect a lot from it, although I wonder if an iPad cannot replace a MacBook Air for a large group of users?
