First Look: Pictures of Lenovo Legion Go, a Windows Handheld with Detachable Controllers

Pictures of Lenovo’s SteamDeck-esque handheld, the Lenovo Legion Go, have emerged for the first time. That device runs on Windows and, similar to the Nintendo Switch, has two detachable controllers next to the screen.

Images from the handheld have surfaced at Windows Report. According to that site, the device will have an eight-inch screen. The controls can be operated on both sides of the screen. In that configuration, the handheld mainly resembles ASUS’ ROG Ally, with two asymmetric sticks, a four-point push button, and four A, B, X, and Y buttons on the side. Also, like the Steam Deck, there is a trackpad on one of the controllers.

There are several triggers on the back of the device. There are at least four shoulder triggers on the device, but there are also triggers under the controllers. According to Windows Report, there is also a wheel under the controllers, although it is not clear what that is for. Via the back it is also possible to put the device upright with a hinge.

The most notable aspect of the handheld is that controllers can be detached from the device, similar to the Nintendo Switch’s Joy-Cons. From this, Windows Report concludes that the screen is touch-sensitive, but that is not clear from the photos.

The device also has two USB-C ports, one on top and one on the bottom. There’s also a 3.5mm port in the device, as is a microSD slot.

Windows Report says that the device runs on Windows 11. There have been rumors for some time that Lenovo wants to release its own handheld. The company has been talking about this since 2021, but previous images that appeared on the site at the time are nothing like the photos that are now coming out. Lenovo has not yet officially said anything about the device and when it should be released.
