Rob McElhenney revealed a very first glimpse of the most anticipated crossover of the season on television, that of the series Philadelphia (FX) et Abbott Elementary (ABC).

Deadline reports that the creator and star of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Rob McElhenneyshared photos from a crossover episode with the series with Abbott Elementary, currently being filmed.
The actor wrote “School’s out, everyone.” in a post Instagram where we also see the actors Kaitlin Olson, Danny DeDevio, Glenn Howerton et Charlie Day from the series FX alongside Jannelle James, Lisa Ann Walter, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Chris Perfetti, Tyler James Willaims and the creator/star Quinta Brunson of the flagship comedyABC.
Season 4 of the series Abbott Elementary d’ABC focuses primarily on the gentrification of the school’s neighborhood. The next season of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia won’t air until next year, leaving the crossover’s plot details still a mystery. In a recent episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Quinta Brunson shared his excitement for this crossover.
During the interview, the Golden Globe-winning actress shared that she had a connection with Rob McElhenney after comparisons between the two series began appearing on social media. She said: “Something popped up online like, ‘Someone said it looked like an episode of Sunny, it looked like an episode of Abbott.’ And then we kind of connected through that. And then we really connected in person, and I get along so well with him and his team, that we felt like we could really do this. »
Quinta Brunson teased the crossover on Instagram earlier this month, captioning the post “Season 4 ofAbbott Elementary is really getting Sunny :). »
In addition to this historic collaboration, the actors of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia celebrated the 20th anniversary of the filming of their pilot episode. Fans of the series will notice the original leather jacket worn in the pilot episode by Rob McElhenney in the image above.

No announcement has been made regarding the air date of this crossover episode. As for Abbott Elementaryits fourth season is broadcast every Wednesday in the first part of the evening on ABC (the episode is available the next day on Hulu). This fourth season will soon be launched in France exclusively on Disney+ (the first three are already available on the streamer). The 16 seasons of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia are also available for streaming on Hulu et Disney+.
