First Look at New Tomb Raider Game Artwork: Lara Croft and Dinosaurs Revealed

Already last August, developers from the Crystal Dynamics studio called on fans of the Tomb Raider series to remember to register their e-mail address on the series’ official website. It guaranteed them to receive a newsletter, from which they would be among the first to learn more about the upcoming new game with Lara Croft, which was announced already in April 2022. Unfortunately, for many months nothing happened at all, but in mid-February, out of the blue and without prior announcement , the developers have published the first artworks, which show the main character in addition to the game environment and the tyrannosaurus.

DSOGaming magazine drew attention to the artworks, which extracted them from the aforementioned official website series. As mentioned above, perhaps the most interesting is the portrayal of the main character, who looks very much like Lara from the first part. However, we know from earlier reports that it should not necessarily be a remake or reboot of the series, but another sequel that will follow on from the last trilogy, but the retro appearance of the heroine suggests something else. However, the game will be published by Amazon and it should be the biggest part that this brand has ever offered. As far as Lara’s appearance is concerned, it is of course only artwork, however, it is evident that the main heroine of Tomb Raider is indeed more mature, as stated earlier, and she is supposed to fulfill the role of a seasoned treasure hunter who is also not afraid to reach for weapons.

And while we don’t know more about their adversaries, it is certain that they will encounter dinosaurs during their new adventure. The second artwork depicts Lara next to a tyrannosaur, another typical antagonist for the series. It is not surprising then that the game is set in a tropical area, although of course you can see the mountains in the background, which Lara also visited in the previous games. Nothing else can be deduced from the images, but after the images are published, there remains some confusion as to what will happen with the concept of the game. Considering that the last trilogy so far served as a reboot in itself, would this be another one? The questions themselves…
