To celebrate Marvel Comics’ 85th anniversary, the company released an exclusive sneak peek of the next big movie bet, Captain America: A New Worldthe film that will be released in February 2025 after the successful premiere of Deadpool & Wolverine this year.

In the clip, fans were treated to previously unseen footage of General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross (played by Harrison Ford) completely transformed into the Red Hulk.

The character of Ross had previously been played by William Hurtwho passed away in 2022 at the age of 71. The actor left a huge mark on the franchise The Avengers and in other films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), such as The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and the saga of Captain America.

With his passing, the renowned Harrison Ford82, took over in this new installment, marking his debut in the MCU. The actor, recognized for his leading roles in the films of Indiana Jones y Star Wars, underwent a grueling motion capture process to bring Red Hulk to life.

In a recent interview with VarietyFord revealed what his preparations were before starting filming: “What was necessary? Not caring. It was necessary to be an idiot for moneywhich I’ve done before,” he joked.

However, he also added, on a more serious note: “I don’t want to belittle it. I’m just saying that you have to do certain things that normally your mother wouldn’t want you to do, or your acting teacher, if you had one. But it’s fun and I enjoyed it. I had a great time and I’m delighted with the response we got to the trailer.”

Captain America: Brave New World is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Sam Wilson / Captain America, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

In another recent interview with ScreenRantFord compared his work on the MCU to his other iconic franchises, and when asked what stood out about the MCU in comparison, he replied, “It’s a totally different style, isn’t it? Free from some of the usual limitations of the imagination. It’s a pleasure to work like that and it’s fun. The director, Julius Onah, did a fantastic job. Working with Anthony [Mackie] “It was also a lot of fun. I enjoyed it.”

For its part, Anthony Mackiewho plays the new Captain America, also shared his experience of working with the legendary actor on the film. In conversation with Inversehe described Ford’s presence on set as a huge motivation for everyone.

“It’s the damn thing Harrison Ford. He has an aura that quickly disappears because he’s such a cool guy. He’s everything a movie star should be. He’d be like, ‘Let’s shoot this shit,’ and everyone was like, ‘Yeah, let’s shoot this shit,’” he said.

A new world will follow the story of Sam Wilson, who picks up after the events of the 2021 series Falcon and the Winter Soldier (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier). The new installment will explore the challenges he will face after assuming the important role of Captain America, following the events involving Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) in the successful Avengers: Endgame.

Kevin FeigeMarvel president Sam Wilson described the new project as “a realistic political thriller.” The official synopsis reads: “After meeting with newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross, Sam Wilson finds himself in the middle of an international incident. He must uncover the reason behind a sinister global plot before the real mastermind has the entire world seeing red.”

As for what fans can expect from the plot, Mackie said: “It made more sense for it to be a more realistic spy action movie rather than aliens and planes coming through portals and stuff like that. The opportunity for Sam to really establish himself as a true Avenger comes with this installment.”

The cast of the film also includes the participation of Giancarlo Esposito, Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Fire Roquemore, Tim Blake Nelson y Liv Tyleramong others. Captain America: A New World will be released in theaters around the world on February 13, 2025.
