First lady Melissa Santokhi-Seenacherry has received the book Information to children and adolescents about the corona virus and COVID-19 from author Indra Hu-Ramdas. This presentation took place at the Presidential Palace on Wednesday, September 9. Santokhi-Seenacherry is very pleased with this book, all the more because she is currently working on a television program with children in Suriname. She can share this book and the messages from this book with the children who participate in the program.
Writer Hu-Ramdas has handed this book especially to the First Lady, because she believes that Covid education is crucial at the moment and the First Lady is an important link for her to convey the education. In this book, the writer has written down the education and guidelines regarding the coronavirus in a child-friendly manner that even the smallest understand. “If we want to combat COVID-19 in any way, we first need to know what the virus is, how it spreads and how we can combat it. We can only do that through information, ”says the children’s author.
The book was handed over to the first lady together with some children. The children were honored to meet Santokhi-Seenacherry for the first time. “Meeting the first lady was really nice. She welcomed us with all joy. I really liked that of her ”, said Joël Ramnath after the presentation.
