First in the world, China shows off its two Covid-19 vaccines

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – For the first time, China is showing off two of its Covid-19 vaccines at a trade show, which is taking place in Beijing this week. The two vaccines are made by Sinovac Biotech and Sinopharm.

The two types of vaccines in small bottles have successfully attracted the attention of visitors and created a crowd to see a vaccine that will change the world in fighting the Covid-19 corona virus pandemic.

The Sinovac and Sinopharm vaccines are now in phase three clinical trials. If proven efficacious and effective this vaccine will be submitted to the health authorities for examination and distribution authorization.

A Sinovac representative said the company had “completed construction of a new vaccine plant” capable of producing 300 million doses of vaccine a year. Some researchers believe it takes two doses of vaccine per person for the body to create neutralizing antibodies AFP, Monday (7/9/2020).

Previously, Sinopharm claimed to have developed a vaccine to create antibodies that allow the body to survive one to three years against the Covid-19 virus. These results will be known after the final clinical trials are completed.

In May 2020, President Xi Jinping promised that the domestic vaccine being developed would become a “global public good” if it was proven to be effective and effective against Covid-19.

Apart from Sinopharm and Sinovac, China is also developing vaccines through CanSino under the supervision of military research institutes. This vaccine is also in its final phase of clinical trials. In the previous two tests, this vaccine succeeded in creating neutralizing antibodies.
