The Peugeot family SUVs, models 3008 and 5008, have been on the market since 2016, so they were modernized last year. The changes mainly concerned design. And the addition of night vision, but so far there was no room to try.

Both models share technology together with the plug-in hybrid; it can be said that the 5008 is extended 3008 by two seats, respectively. suitcase, but there are a little more differences. But the bow was always the same, so even now it received the same modernization.
–
The entire front mask, including the bumper, is completely new in both of them, and from a short experience in Prague’s Vysočany, where Peugeot presented the news to Czech journalists, it must be said that it really suits them. Both in the details of the mask, the grid of which falsely passes under the headlights, and in the “tiger teeth” of the new lights.
–
Shining “tiger teeth” is one of the most visible innovations.

Of course, they hide the daytime running lights and turn signals, as is customary with new Peugeots. And there is a novelty in the lighting at the back as well – in sequential LED turn signals.
–
The interior also underwent minor changes. The most important is the significantly larger central display, which now, similarly to, for example, the DS 7 Crossback, permanently shows the set temperature in the air conditioning on the sides of the main display in the middle; this can be Android Auto or Apple CarPlay.
–
The larger central display is a welcome change.

However, it remains necessary to switch to another section of the infotainment to change the temperature; the numbers on the sides of the display have not been added buttons for such an operation. According to the Czech representation of Peugeot, nothing like this was even considered.
–
The configuration of the steering wheel and display of the iCockpit remained the same – and I was pleasantly surprised, because the 3008 and 5008 belong to a handful of Peugeots in which I can see well on the instrument panel.
–
The instrument panel displays are visually stunning; here you notice especially the drums on the sides.

The design inside this display remains one of the most unbeatable on the market today. It does not stick tightly to any shapes, the speed is always perfectly legible and instead of the basic circles in some images it offers drums that rotate under a fixed hand.
–
In addition, two variants of the dashboard trim are commendable – gray felt and wood. Not only do ambient lights shine on the doors in both doors, which looks like a million, but they are also both very pleasant to the touch.
–
The brown fake wood fits surprisingly well against the black quilted leather on the seats.

I will allow myself only a few observations of the short rides on how cars drive; we will have both cars in the standard test, where we will focus on driving qualities in more detail.

I was the first to experience a three-horse 3008 HYbrid4which solves the biggest shortcoming of the common 3008, namely the absence of all-wheel drive. Although the rear wheels are driven only by electricity, they use primarily the rear 112k electric motor for electric drive.

Rear axle with electric motor, fuel tank and battery for 3008 HYbrid4
So she is an asshole, which is quite nice to know about her behavior. Only when I add more throttle will the front 110k electric motor engage in play. According to the carmaker, the 13.2 kWh batteries have energy of 59 kilometers, I really estimate something around 35-40 km, judging by the fact that when the battery is charged slightly over half, the display showed a range of 20 km.

The Peugeot 3008 in the Czech Republic starts at a price of 562,000 crowns for basic Active equipment with a 1.2-liter three-cylinder PureTech with an output of 130 hp and a manual six-cylinder. The HYbrid4 version has 300 horses and costs at least 1,200,000 crowns.
–
Larger 5008 I tested it with a 180-horsepower petrol sixteen and an equally powerful two-liter turbodiesel, both with an eight-speed Aisin planetary automaton.
–
You will immediately know that the Peugeot 5008 is a bit bigger behind the wheel. But because of the third row of seats, there can’t be a hybrid in it; he will come with the next generation.
Photo: Peugeot
There was no room to compare consumption, but the range of both versions, as well as the sophistication, are very pleasant; adequate to be able to move reasonably with a fully loaded car. Both have a very pleasant, fast response to the accelerator pedal in Sport mode, and the turbodiesel sounds very interesting in a combination of real engine sound and fake sound from the speakers.
–
The 5008 is immediately recognizable as I drive a slightly larger car. It is enlarged from the B-pillars to the rear. Apart from the doors, on the one hand, with different seats in the second row, on which there is more space, but due to three tiny individuals, I bring less comfort than in the 3008. On the other hand, two emergency seats in the trunk.
–
I can’t fit in here “for myself” by chance, but the seats are not too hard and children will have enough space. And although the process of tilting the seats is not motorized, it is ingeniously easy – in addition to the cover, tilting and folding the seat is a matter of one pull on the loop, at most with a click to lock the seat.
–
The seats in the trunk are emergency, but usable for children.

The Peugeot 5008 in the Czech Republic starts at the price of 605,000 crowns for basic Active equipment with a 1.2-liter three-cylinder PureTech with 130 horsepower and a six-speed manual transmission. The strongest 1.6-horsepower 1.6 PureTech petrol starts at 865,000 with GT equipment, the 2.0-horsepower 2.0 BlueHDi turbodiesel costs at least 915,000 crowns in the same equipment.
–
As a whole, both facelifted models look better, more valuable, more pleasant than before. The new design of the bow is visually shifted by a huge piece, as well as a larger display in the interior.
