The Honor Magic V2 received a lot of attention at the fair, and it’s no wonder. The device is very interesting for several reasons. One of them is undoubtedly the already mentioned thickness, which is only 9.9 mm when closed. According to Honor, we are thus entering the “millimeter era”, when at least the thickness of this manufacturer’s folders will be very low. After all, the fashionable accessory Honor V Purse is less than 9 mm in the waist, which is already impressive.
While using the Honor Magic V2, we quickly got used to the thinness of the device, as it makes the puzzle look as simple as an ordinary smartphone. With the benefit that whenever you need, you can enjoy the giant 7.92″ display. It is of the LTPO OLED type, so it can change the refresh rate in the range of 1 to 120 Hz. Right at the Honor stand, there was also an interesting demonstration of the PWM dimming refresh rate. This aspect is invisible at first glance, but it plays an important role, because the (invisible) flickering of the screen is tiring for the eyes. So the higher the frequency, the better for the user’s eyes. In the case of the Honor Magic V2, it is 3840 Hz, the current maximum at smartphones in general.
One stylus for both displays
However, during the presentation, we could also see that the Honor Magic V2 can be purchased with a stylus that can be used to control both the external and internal display. This is, for example, one of the differences compared to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5, which does not do this. Likewise, during the performance, we could witness how the phone was deliberately thrown to the ground from a height of about 1.5 meters, which it survived unscathed.
Also interesting is the hinge, which uses elements such as titanium and 3D printing. Technologically, according to Honor, the new Magic V2 parameters are 8 to 10 months ahead of the competition. It is not difficult for the manufacturer to believe, as he managed to fit a 5,000 mAh battery into the device. Considering the dimensions and weight (231 grams), this is truly unique. Success was achieved thanks to the new Silicon-Carbon-Dual-Battery technology with an average cell thickness of just 2.72 mm.
The only thing that disappointed us about today’s very successful presentation of the new Magic V2 is the fact that the availability and price for the Czech market have not yet been announced. However, the news should appear soon and we will inform you about it.
