First images and screenshots of ‘The Matrix Resurrections’ have surfaced!

Some promo material has appeared online of the long-awaited fourth part in The Matrixfranchise, titled Resurrections.

You can view the material, which appears to be taken from the exclusive teaser trailer shown at CinemaCon and (courtesy of user ForQ) the website thechoiceisyours.whatisthematrix.com, view below.

Among other things, we see protagonist Yahya Abdul-Mateen II anxiously standing in front of the mirror. But of course most of the attention goes to Keanu Reeves’ Neo, still with his identical one John Wick-appearance:

The news has also come out that the first teaser trailer will finally be made public next Thursday. That preview showed that we should expect a story where Neo was unaware of his previous existence as The One. He lives again as Thomas Anderson in The Matrix and does not know who Trinity is either. A young Morpheus tries to take him out for another war…?

The sequel of Lana Wachowski (without Lilly this time) debuts on December 22, 2021 in the US in both theaters and streaming service HBO Max. In the Netherlands we can already enjoy from 16 December 2021.
