5.2 days incubation period
The middle incubation period was 5.2 days. 95 percent of the illnesses appeared within 12.5 days, which speaks for a 14-day quarantine of those affected. “In the beginning, the epidemic doubled every 7.4 days,” wrote the experts. “The basic number of reproductions (R0; Note ..) was 2.2.” The basic reproduction number for whooping cough (bacterial infection) is between twelve and 17, for the measles between twelve and 18.
