Still without Maurice Becker, Lucas Flade and Tatu Vihavainen, the team went into the first match in the Bayreuth Tiger Cage of the current preparation.
The onesto Tigers played against the second team of Salzburg, who are packed with young talents and are in Germany for two matches.
It was quickly apparent that the team was determined to make these appearances successful when the red and whites created their first opportunities. Kolarik failed, however, and the hosts, who were on the offensive through Seto and Verelst, were also unsuccessful. This changed when Mackner was passed a long way and was able to extend the ball, giving his team the lead. Maul was unable to capitalize on a counterattack while outnumbered. His colleague Wurzer, who was left completely alone shortly before the halftime whistle, did better and chipped the puck in to make it 0-2.
Less than a minute after the middle period restarted, Gesson poked the puck over the line to make it 0-3, meaning that the team was able to play comfortably with this comfortable lead. A few penalties on both sides meant that neither team had a successful outcome, so the score was 0-3 at the second break.
In the final period, it was the Tigers who showed more commitment and were able to create several good opportunities. Seto took advantage of one of these after he came through on the right side and shot. His teammate then converted the rebound without any problems. An elbow check against Verelst then gave the hosts a five-minute power play, in which they were able to get on the scoreboard once and thus scored the next goal through Verelst. It was only late in the period that the guests showed any effort on offense, but this was rewarded when they played with a power play. The final point also belonged to the guests, who were able to score a fifth goal via EN.
The next games for the onesto Tigers are coming up when they face Herford in a back-to-back weekend on September 13th and 15th.
