First fully commercial manned spaceflight arrived

Despite a video glitch, Crew Dragon, the first all-private astronaut flight, managed to dock with the International Space Station on Saturday afternoon.

The first commercial manned space flight from Earth, organized by the American space company Axiom, has arrived. After the spacecraft’s departure on Friday afternoon, the Crew Dragon Endeavor arrived safely at the International Space Station on Saturday. The link, which happened at 2:29 PM Belgian time, could be followed live on NASA.

When approaching the spacemeccano, a video problem did arise. But from the ground it was found that there was sufficient data available to continue with the connection to the Harmony module. The four crew members, who each had $55 million for a return flight and a nine-day stay on the ISS, will have to wait another two hours before it is safe to board.

During their stay, which is partly supported by Elon Musk’s rocket company SpaceX and NASA, the four rich men must do more than look through the window. They will participate in a series of scientific and biomedical experiments and will also be responsible for marketing Axiom.
