First four league games, two goals. Is this how you imagined starting at the new address?
The most important thing for me is that I play regularly. That was the main reason I made the change. There is an interesting team in Pardubice and a cabin almost like in twenty one. We are very young, but it is a good way.
How did you experience the beginning of the season? In Sparta, you only went among the substitutes and sometimes not even that.
I wasn’t at my best at the end of last season. I want to play - and my well-being depends on that. When I’m not playing, I’m sorry.
Did coach Priske explain to you why he neglects you?
We talked a little about it, but I wouldn’t go into detail right now. Maybe just like this: you have no choice but to accept it. I looked into hosting to get out of it.
Did you believe you would find him? It was agreed upon at the end of the transfer window.
When we agreed on it, I knew it would work out. There were a few other options, but in the end I decided on Pardubice. I think correctly. It was not an entirely clear choice, but gradually it turned out to be the best.
What convinced you? Coach Radoslav Kováč, who likes to bet on youngsters?
Sure, partly him too. But also a look into the cabin: I already knew some of the boys from Olomouc, where I played in front of Sparta. I knew that I would get space in Pardubice, which was essential. I quickly looked around and fit into the team, it didn’t take long.
It can be seen, at the weekend you flashed a penalty à la Panenka against Baník. Are you gaining confidence?
It’s only one penalty that was successful. But I certainly feel better than when I came to Pardubice. Hopefully it will continue like this.
Let’s go to the twenty-first: you missed the first meeting due to illness, but now you’re back. How is the new team compared to the previous one you were with at the EURO in the summer?
There are a few new guys and a lot of old friends from Sparta and Pardubice. I was pleased to be able to return to the established cycle. In addition, I also know the coaches and other people from the implementation department. I feel comfortable here.

Even if the 1:2 defeat in Iceland came in the prologue of the qualification?
It was the first match for an artist, the beginning was not easy for us. But it wasn’t such a bad performance. There was not much left and the result was different, we could now talk about Iceland in a completely different way. That’s why we don’t really feel under pressure.
Not even because of Wales, who already have four points after two matches?
This won’t matter. We will prepare for him regardless of what he has already done in qualifying. I don’t even analyze the names on the list, I try to focus more on myself and us. Someone may be solving it, but I’m not quite the type.
Will it work against the Welsh even without key stopper Martin Vitík, who was promoted to the national team?
It has to go, even if it’s a loss for us. Martin is in excellent form in Sparta and we will miss him. I was looking forward to chatting at the meeting as always, so maybe next time. There are other guys who will replace him on the field and when talking. We had a good chat already on Monday on the way from Prague to Hluboka.
What did you solve? That six points would be needed in České Budějovice against Wales and Denmark?
Clearly. There is nothing to talk about. We will want to win both games and we will do everything for it. It’s nice in Budějovice, we like it here and we don’t miss anything. Including fan support. I hope that as many of them as possible will come again and help us.
