- HOUSTon 122 – 119 sacramento
This time it’s the right one for Houston. After losing their first games of the season, the Rockets faced the Sacramento Kings, a team that is doing pretty well at the start of the season. Good news never comes alone, it was with pleasure that we were able to attend the first game of John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins and Eric Gordon this season. Deprived of play because of the health protocol, the three men were in uniform that night and they carried the Rockets collective perfectly. If James Harden finished top scorer of his team with 33 points and 8 rebounds, he was perfectly helped by his teammates. Thus, John Wall ends this meeting with 22 points, 9 assists and 6 rebounds. Eric Gordon ensures off the bench with 17 points 6/12 on shots. Finally DeMarcus Cousins, who had a limited playing time, finished the game with 8 points, 3 assists and 1 rebound in just under 14 minutes. In this tense encounter against a tough opponent, Houston could also count on Christian Wood. The inside finished with a total of 21 points (9/14 on shots) and 12 rebounds. With four players over 15 points, Houston wins 122,119 and wins the first game of its 2020/2021 season.
Ct Kings, there have been some good and some not so good. If Harrison Barnes (24 points 8/14 on shots) and Richaun Holmes (22 points and 13 rebounds) are illustrated, Marvin Bagley III and De’Aaron Fox have rather. The first finished the match with 4 1/9 points on shots while the second finished with 22 points but a very doubtful percentage: 9/23 on shots including a nice 1/7 three points.
- toronto 100 – 83 new york
Like Houston, the Toronto Raptors took advantage of the New Year to claim their first victory of the season. Against the New York Knicks, Nick Nurse’s players were serious and took advantage of their opponents’ weak times. In the absence of Pascal Siakam, it was Fred VanVleet and Kyle Lowry who took matters into their own hands. The first finished leading scorer on his team with 25 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds while the All-Star point guard finished with 20 points, 2 steals, 4 assists and 7 rebounds. Around this duo, three players pass the 10 point mark: Alex Len (11 points), Terence Davis (10 points) and Norman Powell (17 points). New York Ct, Kevin Knox II and Julius Randle share the title of top scorer with 16 points each. Unfortunately, the two players were a bit too lonely. The 26 cumulative points of Elfrid Payton and RJ Barrett are not enough to reverse the trend and the Knicks must ultimately bow. Frank Ntilikina, meanwhile, was not even on the scoresheet …
- chicago 133 – 130 washington
This season, two teams still haven’t won. These are Detroit and Washington. And tonight, the trend was confirmed for the Wizards. Against the Chicago Bulls, an affordable team on paper, Washington could not snatch this first success which would do him so much good. Russell Westbrook however finished in triple-double but nothing helped. His 22 points, 8/18 on shots, 11 assists and 10 rebounds were not heavy enough in the balance. Just like the 28 points and 4 rebounds of Bradley Beal or the 28 points of Thomas Bryant. The Wizards can not find the right formula and lost 14 balls in this meeting.
Opposite, the Bulls were able to count on a particularly motivated Otto Porter JR. Facing his former team, he finished the game with 28 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. He was the perfect offensive leader of this Chicago team. Behind him, we find Zach Lavine and his 22 points, or the 16 points of Coby White. Finally, off the bench, Daniel Gafford and Thaddeus Young stand out with 30 points in total. With this victory, Chicago is 12th in the Conference and throws Washington a little deeper into turmoil.
