First FIS Summit in Zurich Sets Course for the Future of Skiing

Zurich served as the venue for the first FIS summit, attended by delegates from 47 developing countries. John Eliasch, President of the FIS, opened the meeting and highlighted the key points of the current FIS strategic plan as well as the relevance of the centralization of media rights. Over the course of the summit, these key topics were further illuminated through several presentations from different FIS departments.

The countries represented received deep insights into the implementation of the FIS strategic plan and the opportunity to clarify questions and discuss various important aspects.

Following the official talks of the summit were Ms Jenny Shute and Mr. Josef Zenhäuser recognized during the formal dinner for their long-standing membership and their commitment to the development of youth and children’s programs within the FIS. Both were awarded the renowned FIS plaque.

It was also decided to hold the summit regularly as part of the annual FIS autumn technical meetings in Zurich.
