/ world today news/ Just days after the ban on wearing burqas came into force in Pazardzhik, the first fine was imposed today, reported the correspondent of BGNES in the region.
A police patrol stopped a fully covered woman who was walking towards the “Iztok” district. It turned out that she did not have an identity document either, so she was taken to the police station in the Roma quarter. The 30-year-old resident of the neighborhood was issued two acts – for violation of the public order ordinance and for violation of the law on Bulgarian personal documents.
The amount of the sanctions will be determined within a month. According to the change in the public order ordinance, the first fine for wearing a burka is BGN 300. BGN 50 is the penalty for the lack of personal documents. If the woman does not pay her fines, her social benefits will be taken away.
