According to AFAD data, an earthquake of 5.2 magnitude occurred at 20:43 off the coast of Marmaris. Geology Specialist Dr. Şükrü Ersoy made evaluations about the earthquake felt throughout the Aegean region.
Ersoy, who evaluated on Twitter, used the following statements:
” M5.6 earthquake on the Marmaris Bozburun peninsula. AFAD fixed this to 5.2. In the Bozburun peninsula, this earthquake should not be so deep. I have worked in this region for more than 30 years. If the epicenter is correct, it is on the East-West trending fault in the Bozburun peninsula. If it is so deep, it cannot be on the Marmaris Bozburun peninsula. Strange!”
