During a new Letter from the Producer LIVEbroadcast, SQUARE ENIX today revealed new details of FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Patch 5.4. Patch 5.4, titled “Futures Rewritten”, will be released in early December and will bring new content to the critically acclaimed Shadowbringersextension.
Additionally, producer and director Naoki Yoshida has announced plans to support the PlayStation 4 version of FINAL FANTASY XIV on the PlayStation 5 console. In addition, players can take advantage of the in-game PS4 Pro display settings, while the PlayStation 5 hardware ensures faster loading times.
The December Patch 5.4 update delivers several updates and new content for all types of adventurers:
- New Main Scenario Quests – Following the great completion of it Shadowbringersstory in Patch 5.3, players embark on a new adventure.
- New raid dungeon: Eden’s Promise – The third installment in the 8-part Eden raid series features new, challenging battles on normal and savage levels.
- Chronicles of a New Era – The Sorrow of Werlyt Updates – The next chapter in the “The Sorrow of Werlyt” questline introduces Emerald Weapon.
- Nieuwe trial: Emerald Weapon – Players can compete against Emerald Weapon on normal and extreme levels.
- Nieuwe dungeon: Matoya’s Relict – Players can overcome this new challenge by teaming up with other adventurers, or a group of computer-controlled characters, using the Trust system.
- Nieuwe Unreal-trial – The next powered-up version of an existing primal will be unleashed on level 80 heroes with Patch 5.4 for a new challenge and the chance to win unique prizes.
- Blue Mage-update – This limited job will receive several new updates, including an increased level cap, ability to learn new blue magic from enemies, new job-specific equipment, and additions to the Blue Mage Log.
- New “Explorer Mode” – This new gameplay mode allows players to pass Shadowbringers-dungeons travel without being attacked by enemies, allowing them to take screenshots undisturbed. In this mode, players can also summon mounts and minions to use in their screenshots.
Instruments update – The playable instruments have been expanded with the violin.
- Triple Triad-updates – In addition to the adjusted game rules and interface improvements, new, limited-time tournaments are held. These are also available through the Duty Finder.
- Ishgard Restoration-update – The fourth and final phase of the restoration of the Holy See of Ishgard begins.
- “Save the Queen”-update – The new chapter of this multi-part adventure with a scenario from famed game designer Yasumi Matsuno (FINAL FANTASY Tactics, FINAL FANTASY XII) delivers large-scale combat and the chance to further improve Resistance weapons.
- Adjustments to PvE and PvP actions, updates to Ocean Fishing and Doman Mahjong, treasure hunt dungeon updates, new UI skins, and more.
Additionally, Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida confirmed that Patch 5.35 will be released on October 13. This patch delivers the latest chapter in the “Save the Queen” questline, featuring a story written by renowned game designer Yasumi Matsuno (FINAL FANTASY Tactics, FINAL FANTASY XII). The patch also introduces the new Bozjan Southern Front battle content, featuring a new area where the Bozjan Resistance has embarked on Operation Eagle’s Nest to reclaim Alermuc Fortress from the Empire. Additionally, players can upgrade the powerful weapons featured in the first chapter of this quest series by participating in a variety of in-game content, including the new Bozjan Southern Front.
