The 67-year-old driver of a Škoda car, who died today before noon in the accident between Sopot and Anevo, probably died of a sudden heart attack.
This has yet to be established with certainty in Forensic Medicine Plovdiv, where the body will be taken for an autopsy.
The victim is from Sofia. Acquaintances told BLITZ that unexpectedly, probably losing control of the steering wheel, the resident of the capital entered the oncoming lane and crashed into a truck.
The driver of the heavy truck saw the oncoming car, slowed down, almost stopped, blew his horn, but the Skoda got stuck in the truck.
The car had no stopping distance, our sources added.
The 35-year-old TIR driver is from Stara Zagora. He is not hurt, but he is scared.
As BLITZ reported, the melee took place today around 10:40 a.m.
The scene of the accident has been preserved by the law enforcement officers, an investigation is underway. Until its completion, a temporary organization is created for passenger cars to pass through a bypass route on a dirt road from the junction to the village of Moskovets, while heavy goods vehicles pull over to the side and wait.
The road is not yet open.
