On the circuit of the Sakhir, in Bahrain where the F1 World Championship will start on 28 March, took place today, March 12, the first tests (in total it will be three days dedicated). The Dutch driver of the Red Bull puts everyone behind with the best time in 1’30’674.

Fourth time for Lance Stroll (Aston Martin), while his partner Sebastian Vettel is 13th. It does not shine Ferrari, fifth with Carlos Sainz and with problems in the morning of a technical nature for Charles Leclerc.
It is not an easy day even for the Mercedes with Hamilton who drove a car still not at the top and finished tenth and Bottas last for a gearbox problem.
The seven-time World Champion said: “Today was definitely not the smoothest day of work we have had, but these things serve to challenge us. Everyone worked a lot hard to bring us here. We had that setback in the morning which was a very unfortunate episode for Valtteri, who lost a lot of time on the track. The team is working hard to find to understand that problem was due. I think they did a great job to get the car back on track, anyway. The second session also had challenges and criticalities, but we live to find solutions to the problems we face ”.
Positive balance, overall for Sainz: “I think today was a positive first day of testing, where the goal was to complete our program, which we did, and I’m happy about that. I believe we are all trying to understand the performance of each machine but I also believe that it’s really too early to say anything, especially in these conditions, with a lot of sand, a lot of wind and large variations in temperature. All in all we can consider it as a good day ”.
