The month of March offers a respite in terms of covid data. For the first time this month, there have been no deaths as a result of the virus. Thus, Cantabria has registered 45 new cases, six more than the previous day and no deaths, while hospital occupancy and Intensive Care Units (ICU) continued to decline, which stood at 4.5% and 13.1% respectively.
With data from the Ministry of Health closed until the close of Friday, in Cantabria there are 64 hospitalized -10 less than the previous day-, of which 14 are in the ICU (there were 15 on Thursday). Of these, 44 are admitted to the Valdecilla Hospital in Santander, 14 in the Sierrallana de Torrelavega and 6 in Laredo.
On the other hand, the cumulative incidence at 14 days continues to decrease slightly, with 94 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (the previous day it was 95).
However, the 7-day incidence has experienced a small rebound, going from 46 cases per 100,000 inhabitants of the previous day to 49.
It has also been experienced a small increase in the positivity rate, which rises to 3.8 percent, one tenth more than the previous day.
With the updated data, at the moment the autonomous community registers 1,125 active cases (92 less than Thursday), of which 1,061 are in home quarantine.
Thus, accumulated positives in the region since the start of the pandemic amount to 26,398, of which 25,139 have been detected by PCR and 1,259 through antibody detection tests.
For its part, the total number of cured reaches 24,734 cured, 94 percent, and the number of deceased is 539 deceased. In addition, 486,507 detection tests have been carried out, which represents 83,694 per 100,000 inhabitants.
